Even though no purple bugs are in trout streams, trout can't seem to resist the color. This pattern produces well during the season as a point fly or as a dropper and is a perfect for winter nymphing, as well. Best in smaller sizes for trout in the winter. I can tie this in sizes #12-#22. #12-#20 are on barbless, black nickel scud hooks and #22 are barbed, bronze scud hooks.
