A seriously upgraded version of the iconic Pheasant Tail Nymph. The addition of a UV purple thorax and light dun CDC collar add some serious seduction to this fly. CDC has a very natural, life-like movement underwater and is on countless flies that are top producers. This also makes this fly ideal for either dead-drifting or swinging like a traditional soft hackle fly.
I tie this on EITHER a 1x short, barbless wide-gape jig hook or a standard length barbless jig for a fly that will increase hook-ups and ride point up to significantly reduce snags. These hooks also reduce stress on fish as they are much easier to remove.
