The classic Pheasant Tail as a jig. Most of the traditional pheasant tail with a few alterations. Coq de Leon fibers for the tail are much more durable and streamlined than pheasant. A little UV peacock Ice dub subs out the peacock herl for a bit of sparkle and added durability.
I tie this on a 1x short, barbless wide-gape jig hook for a fly that will increase hook-ups and ride point up to significantly reduce snags. These hooks also reduce stress on fish as they are far easier to remove.
